Revolutionizing Hydropower Automation
Cesar Vega developed the first remote control for a hydroelectric plant in Peru, innovating with an innovative control room when he was Operations Superintendent at Engie in 2009.
Subsequently, as Operations Manager at Statkraft, he developed four remote control projects between 2011 and 2014. As Chief Operating Officer at Duke Energy Peru - Ecuador between 2014 and 2018, he not only automated the iconic Cañón del Pato Power Plant, but extended the concept to thermoelectric operations, natural gas operations and fractioning processes in Pucallpa.
Cesar practically automated 15% of the total Peruvian national park in 12 years, using a management model that integrates Methods, People and Technology. The reduction in operating costs was at least 30%* in 3 years. Checked.
